Re-Conditioning My Bike..
#21
Rust and living by the ocean seem to go hand in hand. Don't worry, you are not alone. Orginally my KLX came from Anderson AFB in Guam. So, the KLX does have a few rust points. Luckily, now it is being ridden at least over 1,000 miles from any salt body water.

Hey guys really sorry for delaying so much! I finally took the pics yesterday as I bought the bike to the apartment to wash and rode it a bit too..
Here are the pics, sorry I dont have any before pics! But the Spokes and other pieces I mentioned earlier were in a pretty bad state!
In this photo - The Spokes/Nipples,Disk Bolts,Chain Adjuster and Axle nut have been galvanized.
In this photo - The Spokes/Nipples, 4 Nuts that hold the Axle Clamp and Disk Bolts.
In this photo - Sprocket,Sprocket Bolts and Chain Adjuster.
In this Photo - Tank (Needs to be re-polished),Handle Touch Ups and Misc Touch Ups.
In this photo - The Repainted Rack and galvanized rack bolts.
In This Photo - Touch Ups On - Foot Pegs,Gear Shifter and slightly the swing arm.
In This Photo - Twin Air!
Whole Bike -
I must say that after the TwinAir Filter I definitely feel a difference in Power; its more aggressive now!
Hope you'll enjoy the pics and im looking forward to comments/suggestions!
Thanks,
Jamie

would this happen to be the bike that went completely underwater when someone didnt realize the kickstand would sink into the soft mud? I saw the video on you tube. The bike I saw was ridden into what looked like a lake and the rider got off and put the kickstand down and walked away. The bike stayed up for like 10 seconds, then kerploink down she went.

The sprocket isnt a new one, its the same old one, I got it newly galvanized..
@clgdswr
Yeah this is that bike.. And Im that rider lol... But that isnt the reason that the bike started rusting.. I know for a fact it isnt, because after that episode, I was living in our old house and the bike was fine, as soon as we shifted to the apartment, this happened..
