range with clarke tank

RE: range with clarke tank
Cool! I hope your latest tank doesn't leak. I guess the difference between my results with the stock tank and what the rest of you are getting is that I'm always on pavement with 17" street tires. I can baby it and get 100+ miles to reserve, but am usually in the 80-90 mile range. The IMS tank is tempting sometimes, but I'd rather not deal with the fan mod's. Moving the wiringand ignitioncoil is no problem, but I like the stock fan too much to be removing it.Capacity-wise theAcerbis 3.7 rocks, but I can't get past the looks.

On a ride a couple of weekends ago, I topped off the Clarke tank (before it started leaking) and rode a mix of smooth dirt rodes and rough 4x4 trails (and just a touch of pavement). Hit reserve at 105 miles and finished the ride at 110 miles. I'm not sure how gasoline was left, but I'm satisfied with the range. Now if they can just provide me with one that doesn't start leaking after a month or so of use.
