Default Radiator maintanence?

My motorcycle seems to be running a little hot and the "puke" tank has lost some fluid. I have ~8500 miles on the little green wonder. Do I need to do a radiator flush? Or, should I just top off the the puke tank with some Prestone (or similar) and ride on?

I don't have any leaks in the hoses, at least that I have found. My engine oil is fine too (my motorcycle isn't "making" oil ).

The fan isn't generally kicking in (once at slow speed) and the overtemp light has never lit up FWIW. The airflow off the radiators does seem to be hotter though.

According to the book, the coolant only has to be flushed every 3 years or 24,000 miles... I'm not knowledgable on this subject but I figured I'd throw that out there if you hadn't checked the owner's manual yet.

Thanks! I can't check the owner's manual ... I never got one with my motorcycle. Kawasaki said dealers normally miss place them when they setup the KLX's. They were willing to sell me a new one for ~$25 shipped.

see how much a new radiator cap is, and replace that, i believe that it controls the over flow in the klx, good luck

I would try cleaning the radiatiors first they collect dirt/leaves and become less efficient.

I have the Unibiker radiator shrouds so, I don't have a good view of the radiator fins themselves. However, it probably is a good time to take them off and wash any accumulated dust and bugs away. THANKS!

Wow! It might seem kinda petty, but I'd press the dealership for something he should have provided with the new bike. That's just plain unprofessional.
