Raced my friend's stock 09 against my 07 351

Cousin Larry,
What elevation are you at and what jets do you have in the carb? In fact is it still the stock carb? Im seriously considering the 351 kit but i want to make sure I will be able to jet for it. Honestly I am a little concerned about the reliability. The picture on bill's website with the sleeve going right to the water jackets makes me cringe alittle....

exactly how much does elevation affect the way these beasts perform? like, do you have to make a drastic change in elevation, say 2,000 ft. or so? between charlotte, nc and my moms house in the country right outside of love valley, NC(you guys should really check out love valley, it's a sweet place to ride and the last true cowboy town, SERIOUSLY, wikipedia it!) im at 500-1800ft... but if i took er up to boone and the blue ridge mountains, in which some trails go from 3,000ft. all the way to near 6,000ft. in a matter of a mile or two? here in NC we have Mt. Mitchell, the highest elevation east of the mississippi river....ya'll come ride with me in NC, all my boys got rid of their bikes for the most part, or they never ride em...

dngrrngr - I am usually between sea level and about 2k ft.
I have the stock carb with an FMF jet kit. I'm running stock pilot jet, and a 132 main jet. The bike runs flawlessly
