a question for others in WA, or maybe suggestions for a good DS bike forsomeone small
been trying to get a good DS for my little lady she's 5'2'' about 115, been looking for bikes for awhile and she's an experianced rider mostly in quads and some bike stuff and the issue we have run into is the bikes that fit her don't have the power she would like and are way to heavy, now here's the thing she had been riding my old yz85 and that fits her well and last year we got her a crf150r and she really likes it in reality how bad you it be to turn it into a DS(get it plated)? it's just that nothing really is out there for what she wants and in her size range, anything would help thank you

we borrowed a 230 for a weekend trip and she hated it too much of a dog for her with the heft it has shes been riding/racing for 16yrs so she wants more out of a bike than what the air cooled ones are willing to do

yeah i guess we are going to have to chase putting plates on the 150R those bikes are just too heavy for her, we borrowed a few of them on that list and she felt if they went over she'd never get them up without help, and both of us feel like if you can't pick back up don't get on it. so for those that know the new law better than i do what all has to be dot cert. to get a plate, tires, speedo and lights are obvious, but what about rims break componets and anything else? its not going to be a highway cruiser more of a dirt road and trail connector bike

Have her check out the Shortypants thread on ADV
Lots of good info and maybe a bike for sale in that thread (in Thumpers).
You might even be close to some of them to check out a bike or two.
Good luck, would love to have a chick that rides!

My wife has the 2006 Yamaha XT 225, and its perfect. I wish you could come over and let her try it out. I mean someone should ride it, my wife won't anymore. It sites pretty low and is easy to pick back up.
Here are a couple of pictures of the bike with her on it. (shameless hot wife picture) LOL
Compared to the KLX
Another shot:
Its really a great bike. In stock form it pretty gutless, but then again my wife weighs half of what I do so it was plenty of power for her. Another bike that is good for shorter riders is the Yamaha TW 200 with the fat tires. Its really stable on the gravel, but the down side is that at least on the 2003 the rear spring is not adjustable.

Hey Toyotabuilder, how are you guys doing with the fires over there, I've been following the news for a few days, my heart goes out to anyone who lost a home. King 5 from Seattle list over 70 homes lost and the fire is only 10% contained. That sucks!

we are wacthing them from the house or at least the smoke, we are east of of town a ways so it hop away but we ride up in that area usually this time of year don't know what all has been hit up there but hoping we don't lose 29 pines, and it really cool having someone who rides with me and most of the time is niping at my heals on the trail it keeps life fun for sure and honestly i thing she wants to go more than i do lol and af far as bikes go she rode her brothers xt today and she hated it lol so i think we are just going to plate her bike, anyone done one?
