Default Question for anyone around sea level

Just wondering what main jet people are using that are around sea level. I am having a issue between 3/4 and full throttle where the bike just hesitates for a second. Like it's not getting enough fuel or something?? That would be a main jet issue right? I'm running a 125 right now and I think that might be too small.

What else can you tell about your bike? airbox lid? snorkel? exhaust? I have the 128 i think, no snorkel but lid is on full exhaust and ran great around sea level. Cant remember needle clip position. If its getting too much air it can hesitate because its lean...

Ya I was thinking of going to the 128 but anymore than that would probably be to much for just the 250cc?? Any thoughts?

I'm below 1000 ft and run a 128 and it runs perfectly needle was in the middle I think. My airbox is the same as yours. Has it been sitting as it seems these bikes benifit from a good carb cleaning if left for just a couple months.

We are at sea level.
The SF250 has KDX snorkle and Full exhaust.
Right now it has 128main with dynajet needle on top clip. It runs great WOT in mid and higher revs but bogs a little in the lower revs Pops a lot upon decel. Felt the same to me with airbox lid removed just made more noise/vibration. I think it would run better with needle clip one notch down or in middle but carb is being replaced by Mikuni soon so I am not goint to bother to mess with it.

To sum it up. From my perspective you should try the 128 with dynajet needle on second from top or middle position. as a starting point if you have opened the airbox and exhaust. If not the look into doing that and jetting at the same time even if all you are doing is drilling out the stock exh.

Cheers Jim
