Question About Carb "T-Mod" for Running in Water
I have read about the "T-mod" or "Y-mod" to put a vent bypass into one of the carb lines to prevent water pickup and/or intermittent pluggage when running through water. I am going to be doing a little bit of water riding tomorrow, so I need to do this mod this evening.
My question is - which line or lines do I need to modify. I am assuming that I need to do the pink vinyl line that comes off of the bottom area of the carb (the float bowl). Is that the one, or should I do the one that connects near the throttle cable connections ont he right hand side of the carb (as installed). Should I do them both?
My plan is to go pick up some tubing and fittings at lunch today. If I don't hear back from someone by then, I guess I will pick up 2 fittings and enough tubing to do both pink vinyl lines. For some reason, though, I was thinking you only modify one of them.
Thanks, Chris

I do believe you do both of the lines... i thaught those lines also dump the gas out of the carb if you lay the bike down, so depend which side the bike lays on it uses that line.. and i belive they are vents too...

Allright, thread closed.
I just found a previous post by a16tony that answers the question directly. Eric, you are right, I need to do both lines. That seems logical. I just wasn't sure if they were both vent lines or if one of them was just an overflow line. Now I know.

RE: Question About Carb "T-Mod" for Running in Water
Another example of great information here on the site. Before I went to Reiter to ride with Tony and the gang I had to do the carb vent mod. I didn't even know what a vent mod was until reading the information from the great guys here. Thanks to all the guys that take the time to post pics and threads helping the rest of us out. I feel there is priceless information here we can take advantage of. Thanks again all.
