I just went from the stock header, and muzzy slipon, and 125 main to the same system you have , and the power isn't as good as it was before.
I'm thinking I might need to go 132 jet.
The bike is stock except the exh/backfire screen/airbox lid off.
128 main, no airbox lid, twin air filter (~500 ft elev.) This is with the KLX300R needle and the vacuum port drilled.

Come back with a report on those Southwick II tires. I've been riding the dunes alot lately and I'm kinda looking for a sand knobby (if not, then Trakmaster II)

I forgot, I also did that stuff when I jetted it..
Picked up a 132 today. We'll see how that goes.
My elevation is 800 ft.

Yup sure thing. I plan to sneak onto the beach at 5am and fish a remote spot. The sand is so lose and deep.. its like riding on marbles.. north shore long island is pebbles and sand mixed .. heres a few pics today of the bike with stock tires.. man I love this bike now

Help! I bought a KLX300/250 pipe and the slip on is way bigger that my header. Can I buy a klx300 header and be cool? Any advice would be great.

I should have done it sooner, but oh well.

Here's a video clip I did so anyone else thinking about this mod will have an idea of what it will sound like.
Wow the FMF muff/Powerbomb combo sounds so different from my HMF muff/Powerbomb combo! You have a much deeper bassy tone. The HMF is higher pitched, more like a baritone. Also the FMF sounds much more civilized...almost too much so. The HMF is much more obnoxious sounding and raspier. It almost wails at higher rpms.

I don't know which I like better. If I could combine the deep bassy tone of the FMF with the raspy obnoxious rowdiness of the HMF, it would be ultimate!

Man it's too late. I freaked out and order a Four Stroke Works KLX300 header.

When you say wider you mean the diameter? Wouldn't the bigger diameter improve high end rpm rather than low end torque?

I have heard the same thing on here too. That the back pressure helps with the low end torque. I messed up kinda by getting the bigger pipe, but I want to up grade to the BB351 and a FCR35. Or something similar.
