pumper carb jetting question
i have a bill blue pumper carb. it was jetted for the muzzy full exhaust. it ran fine bottom to top. i sold the muzzy and put the stock header back on. i'm getting the FMF Q4 slip-on. do any of you think i'll need to drop my main jet size?? i think it's a 137 with anenlarged air box lid hole.i think that it'll be running rich. i won't really know until i run the bike for a bit so i'm just curios to hear what everyone thinks.

RE: pumper carb jetting question
I would bet you will be a little on the rich side. Will it accelerate cleanly in 5th up to redline, and in 6th does it seem to keep pulling? Pull off the airbox lid and try it again. Which way is better? That should point you in the right direction.

RE: pumper carb jetting question
i've had it for quite some time nowand am so used to it that i can't remember what the stock carb was like. i do reacall that there was a small increase in throttle response when ifirst put it on though. a $300 increase in power? no... but they do say that it's more about response off idle that overall power... if i were doing this all over again i would go with the big bore kit instead.
