Having done the pumper already (I got a good deal on it), if I were buying new, I'd say big bore first. I'm not sure the pumper is worth the costs of a new one when it's so close to the 351 in price.

I have a 250s with free mods, BB 351 kit and pumper carb. I also have a 300r with free mods, rejetted/slide drilled stock carb, FSW head pipe and a Magura 314 throttle and 13t c-sprocket. While the 250 with the BB kit has more overall power, the 300r with the 314 throttle and drilled slide comes on just as quick (very, very close anyway).

If I were you I would get the 314 throttle, do the free mods, put on a FSW header and see what you think. If that's not enough, then do the BB kit and see how that feels. If you still want more add the pumper, and yo really have not lost any $$ since all the parts still work (well except the jet kit for your stock carb)

That's my 2 cents

Default Big Bore by a landslide

I'm gonna check with my local dealer to see what they would charge to install the big bore kit (maybe during their slow/off season). From all the posts, it sounds as though the big bore kit is the better bang for the buck.

My next decision will be KK 330 or BB 351 big bore kit. Gotta do some more research.

Thanks for all the responses/help.
