Pumper Carb

RE: Pumper Carb
He's riding the klx300 not the 250. Planetklx says the 300 should be with the 35mm fcr or the 36mm mikuni. I have heard good things about the billblue overbore 33mm and guys that are running them on overbored 250's have had good results(as long as you keep the airbox lid on).

RE: Pumper Carb
Bill does need a website. :-)
This is his email address: b_jblue@sbcglobal.net.
He's doing a TM33 carb for me and ordering me the vortex throttle as well, together it comes to 375ish + shipping. Let him know where you live, riding conditions, etc... and he'll get you jetted in the right direction.

RE: Pumper Carb
Oops, good catch. You can run the TM33/34 with the lid off as long as you jet it properly. You end up some where around #147.5 on the main jet and I forget which notch on the needle.

RE: Pumper Carb
I thought that some of the people running the 33/34 with no lid were having trouble getting it tuned properly. I thought I remember hearing Bill or Bake saying they thought that with the lid off it was causing too much turbulance inside this particular carb to properly tune it.

RE: Pumper Carb
I never was able to get my bike running right with the airbox lid off (TM34/331cc/Muzzy/5000'). However, it is running ok with the air box lid on, snorkle removed and some additional cutouts for the crankcase vent filter. WOT still gets a flat spot around 8,500 - 9,000 rpm. I suspect the the TM36 will take care all of this once I get it tuned right.

RE: Pumper Carb
What used bikes would you find a pumber carb on that would make a proper donor for a bill blue rebuild?
I run into all kinds of used stuff cheap but don't know what really to look for.

RE: Pumper Carb
I think it was the suzuki dr350 that came with the tm33 pumper. I am not sure what years, but I think it was the offroad model only not the ds that had it. Some of the older ktms came with the fcr35. Not sure what model or year on them.

Pumper Carb
Hello everyone I am new to the sight and new in general to bikes. I have a 2007 KLX 300r and am probably going to purchase a carb from Bill Blue, if I am going from 7500 ft to 2000 ft from time to time will I need to rejet everytime. I will be doing most of my riding at the higher elevations, but will be doing some low desert stuff from time to time. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you
