my dealer assures me it's already jetted properly, as long as the air lid stays off, but I'll believe that when I see it.

I probably won't have a proper ride report until Spring because most of us up North just let our insurance run-out in the winter time and renew it when things thaw-out again. I will definitly be taking it for a spin around the outside of the garage at my workplace though, which should be enough to gage the difference in response. Who knows, once I fire it up for the first time I may just get giddy enough to go renew the insurance early and just wait for a decent day to wring it out.

 

That pourous needle sounds like a very clever idea. I wonder what it would take to modify my Keihin FCR to work that way. Just what I need, another project ... damn you tremor!

Oh, trust me when it comes to technology, I'm right there. However I do have to temper my desires with large doses of reality.

You might be able to feel the difference between one of those and one of the other pumper carbs. However, I doubt very seriously that the typical rider could.

Many times I remember coming up with a .01 et reduction by doing this, that and the other. The only way you can feel that is looking at the time slip, but it was real.

I'm happy with the way the bike, even being lean, has been awakened by the addition of the TM33. Once I get the jetting back up to where it was, I'm sure it will be a whole lot more enjoyable.

Nitrous . . . . now that is one improvement you can feel!

 

Yeah, all I know is the holes are tiny and very, very precisely drilled. I imagine the carby itself is modded as well, to accept the needle.

I'm sure everyone here with pumpers will be more than happy with them; especially once they are fully dialed-in.

I won't lie that my draw to the latest gadget played a part, but if the carb didn't get such a good endorsement from the dealer, I would have opted for the FCR. An FCR, through Jerry at FSW, would have been the same price once shipping was included. My dealer has turned me away more than once from the latest, most expensive options in favor of something that was cheaper and worked better, but recommend the Yosh MJN without batting an eyelash.

One thing I found interesting is that he said he has NEVER had to touch the needle to get this carb dialed-in. He says they only have had to change the main jet and pilot jet. Very easy to dial in, according to him.
