Default Project - Full Exhaust / DJ kit/smog removal complete

Finished up install of FMF Powercore 4 muffler (removed SA)/ Powerbomb head pipe, DJ kit, remove air cleaner lid and smog removal. All i can say is OMG what a difference. It has woke up and feels damm near like a KX. Started first try, shut off choke after couple minutes and ran beautiful (never did this prior). Very responsive. Would recommend this combo to anyone....

I used these two links for carb removal and for the smog removal. The DJ kit comes with easy to follow instructions. The muffler and head pipe go on in about five minutes with two bolts on muffler and two nuts on head pipe.

Guys- I appreciate the help. I have the dyno jet info and I am being told on even the 2010 model you drill out the choke flow hole. Its not in the directions. Also looking at the best header and exhaust combo...ne input. Thanks

The enrichment (choke) drill out to 0.018" isn't in the dynojet instructions from what I remember. It isn't a performance thing; it's just a "help this darn bike start" thing.

Keep searching the forum and you'll find lots of opinions on the header/exhaust combo.

Correct, the dynojet kit does not include choke adjustments. You need to do this yourself. Hardest part is finding that tiny drill bit(0.018", #77, 0.4572mm) and being very careful to not break it off. It made a huge difference on my 2009.

that choke problem must have started when they redesigned them in 09. Never heard of this prior. My 06 starts fine.

I drove mine to work the other day, it was about 34°, I pulled the choke and hit the starter, it fired and ran at about 2500 and within 10 seconds was getting close to 4000 RPM's so I pushed the chock off.

Odd how one of the 09 carbs (like mine) chokes perfectly and another is totally screwed up. Mine is not drilled, I have the Dynojet kit stage 2 in and nothing else, starting is the last of my worries.
