Probably first of may stupid FCR questions
Well I had time to uncrate the KLX today and took it for a ride. Took a little fidling to get it started first time after putting gas in the bone dry(for shipping) tank.
So I got a couple questions that will probably belay my Noobiness.
1. On the FCR is there no choke? I did not locate one so I gave it a couple pumps of the trottle to ensure a high fuel to air ratio. What ended up working until the bike warmed up was to pump and then crack the throttle slightly(allways works on the boat also)
2. Bike also has the adjustment **** installed comeing of the left(fuel petcock) side of the bike. What exactly is that adjustment? Is it the equivelent of the mixture screw on the CVK carb that should be between 1/2 & 2 1/2 turns out? I understand on the CVK if you need to go more than 3turns out you need to up the idle jet. After a short ride to compelty fill the tank with premium I fiddled with this adjustment **** and the idle RPMs would decrease to about 700 then die or if I went the other way it would bo up over 5K before I decided I better back it off and figure out wat the heck I am doing.
3. This brings up the question of what should I set the idle for when the bike is warm? I put it at 1100.
Thanks in advance
Cheers, Jim

Thanks for the reply.
Its a **** on a cable and it did change the idle speed so thats one bonehead question down 2 to go.
Just to double check is you carb with a choke an FCR. If so where is the choke located?
Whats a recomended good idle speed?
Cheers, Jim

Idle 1250 to 1350 is in the manual, it is where my bike seems happy. On my pumper the chock is on the left side, below and behind the petcock. Small black **** that you will out or toward the left side of the bike...BTW my carb is a Mikuni pumper from the great Bill Blue.

Thanks 2K1w
Starts up now right away after sitting overnight. I think the first startup was harder after sitting around waiting for me to buy it then sitting in a crate on the way over here.
Next question is would this carb benifit from a Koubalink fuel T bar? I think i will be ordering the KLX4 dogbones from them to lower a sm for the GF so I may as well throw in a couple of remote adj screws at the same time.
Cheers, Jim

My FCR 35 on the klx has no choke either, does not need it.
A Koubalink fuel T bar would be cool if you think you can get it to fit.....gettin that fcr in there is tough enough as it is.......but a Kouba would be really nice if you have a lot of large elevation changes.

Finger I am running one of these on the FCR. Works great. I just had to cut a little of the bottom of the fuel bowl away (bottom of the recess where the fuel screw is) to get it to fit. Told you I had all the mods
