Pro Circuit Pipe - '09 Bike?
Anyone got one, or know anything about them?
I've got a guy who races, builds racebikes, and does the bike "intermission" at things like monster truck shows...
Anyway, he's wanting to put a Pro Circuit pipe, instead of a Muzzy or FMF pipe on my bike. He says it's better... He also says they don't offer a full system b/c they built the pipe around the header, so they get great results from the pipe alone; I am skeptical about this one.
Ideas?

Well, IMO the muffler alone will make only a slight difference regardless of brand.
And weight saving being the main benefit.
But in conjunction with other mods, the exhaust system becomes a bigger factor.
If you open the bike right up, jet accordingly, then the header pipe will be important.
Its all linked but one thing I'm sure of, it doesn't really matter what brand it is.

I swapped my FMF Powercore IV for a Pro Circuit Type 496 and am happy that I did. Nothing wrong with the FMF, I was just kind of set on a Pro Cicuit. More of a high rev race type can. I like the sound better and it feels like it has more snap. As you just heard and may here from others, a can is a can. Well, if they were all the same they wouldn't be different. Even if it's a Placebo effect, who cares? I've used the Powerbomb header w/ both. I agree w/ Neil, the header is what you'll notice the most.

Maybe I'm not being clear here:
He states to use the stock header; he says there's no PC header for my '09 KLX. He says the pipe was designed to be used w/ the stock pipe, so it is actually just as good as another brand's full system.
That's just hard to believe.

On a bike with no other mods, the stock header is probably better than a full system regardless of the muffler.
But if you open it up a bit, change the jetting, a bigger diameter header should help.

My bike already has a DynoJet kit installed, and no airbox lid, so it ain't bone stock.
And, as far as the PC loudness goes, supposedly it's quite and approved for state park use...
Why not HMF, I dunno. This guy has vendors, so it beats me...

I've got an 07' and I put a PC T-4 on it but I also got a KLX300 header to make it fit. What would probley be nice is a power bomb on there and the PC. The T-4 also has different ends to put on it to tune the loudness.

Maybe you already know this, but (at least when I looked last year) Pro circuit doesn't make a can for the klx250s. You would have to get one for the KLX 300 and get a (stock or aftermarket ) KLX 300 header as well.
