Power Supply Option Only When Bike Running?
Do our KLX250s have a power supply that is available only when the bike is running? I have some grip heaters to install and would like to connect them to power supplied only when the bike is running to reduce the chances of unexpected battery drain. This would be for an '06 model.
Thanks!

And do you have a pic of the said wire?

As a general rule, I don't think you'd want to be leaving the ignition on without the engine running. You're risking coil damage, and you are draining the battery, regardless of whether you've got heated grips or not.

a friend of mine got some aftermarket lights, and had to wire in a kill switch cause he couldn't start the engine with them on...

Good point toastybake; I am making the assumption that the heated grips IDRIER is installing will also have a toggle switch enabling him to switch the grips off when cranking the engine (or when riding in summer time for that matter!).
BTW, heated grips are one of the single best upgrades I have ever made to a bike. They enable year-round riding, even up here in Canada!

What I would like is a relay controlled circuit that only powers up when the battery is being charged. I'd change the wiring so the headlight would be powered off that circuit as well. So if (when) you stall full battery power is there for cranking without having to fiddle with any switches.
