power outlet
was trying to figure out the best spot to install the tusk power socket...the handlebar seemed too busy with the crossbar, stabalizer and gps mount...didn't want to see any wires, so i installed it on the front left panel...looked the cleanest...very sturdy and thick rubber cap...weatherproof...$9.99 for Tusk 12 Volt Power Socket | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC
second attempt...able to make the socket sit higher with a roadbike stem spacer...fits perfectly...and clean...

wired the power socket directly to the battery, so the battery tender does work in the power socket...i already have a battery tender quick connect attached, so don't really need to use the power socket for that...now on long rides i won't have to worry about running out of juice on the garmin and cellphone.......have a car cellphone charger with a usb back to charge the garmin at the same time...

That looks good, when there isn't anything plugged into it. I don't know about you, but my garmin has a pretty big plug. I don't think I would want it sticking out the side like that when I was riding.
I just used a 12v ext. cord, lopped off the male end, crimped on some solderless eyelets, hooked to battery, and weaved it up towards the front. It rests just above the radiator, behind the shroud, mostly out of sight.

There are lots of ways to add accessory sockets. I use Powerlet sockets for all my bike accessory equipment (PWM heated gear controllers, tire pump, Battery Tender, etc.).
My Powerlet connector is mounted here:
It looks like it sticks out pretty far, but it actually is tucked in well behind the shroud and below the rack tube.

i have a flush plug that only sticks out like 2mm...it's kind of hard to tell in the picture since i plugged in a flexible flashlight to it...i also have a small cellphone charger plug that has an outlet to charge the garmin if i want to keep the garmin plugged and also have a cellphone charging in my pocket....i put it on the side, so i can keep the cellphone in my pocket and have the wire just going to the side panel...
