Should I use number plate background?
Or maybe some vinyl specifically for forks.... There is some on my 96' XR 250 but I don't know where it really came fro, it was already on there when I got it.

You can buy vinyl off the net. I got a huge roll of heavy duty for the grille of my car. It has held up very well, the wind, rain and overall weather has not affected it. I also have alot left over for other projects.

The only thing that would make it specifically for the forks would be that it was cut to size to fit. Some vinyl, like some heavy duty stuff may have a clear gloss laminate over the color. I have that done on the stickers that I send with my cam chain tensioners. It makes the printed sticker more durable and gives a high gloss, same process they use on those MX sticker kits.

hey , just read your question about front forks, and yes it is possible. the way we go about is stripping using a chemical dip and light blasting with alluminium oxide and etch primed which is an essential for longevity of paint and adhesion. Masking and surfaces that need to be paint free and then we powder coat to your colour of choice. and to set the record straight powder coating will not be heavier than paint and it is relativly thin coating but adds excellent protection and a fair ammount of flex, so visit us at Fast Line Coating Limited
