Default Post break in period...Is it me....?

Seems like my bike climbs mph that much easier....Not sure if its me but 73mph used to feel like a stretch but now its 83 that feels the same way.....Not sure if Im driving her harder or if she just drives smoother and easier now...........Dunno

Yes, it does get stronger as it breaks in... (thankfully)
Also, I find big differences with temp & humidity. Sometimes the bike just pulls stronger if the air is right.

Getting the break-in oil out of it probably didn't hurt either. Mine definately runs alot smoother and the valvetrain is quieter with some real oil in there.

OK. Got a KLX250S.
I have 7 miles on it now

Reading the manual it says not to exceed 4000 rpm fort he first 500 miles then not to exceed 6000 rpm for the next 500 miles.

Holy cow, Any comments on this?
I think I exceed 4000 rpm going down the drive way!

I have heard, "ohhh drive it easy for 100 miles, and then go for it!"
Then there is a guy that has a "rev the ****-out-of-it" kinda website
Maybe that is the oppositie extreme..

I'm sure interested in some opinions here.

Thanks!!!

”Ride it like you stole it"

I agree. Warm it up, then take it up to about 4000 in second or third, let the engine slow you back down, then repeat. After doing this for about 20-30 minutes, let it cool down. Repeat again, this time getting up to about 6000. After that, abuse it and enjoy it.

+1 to that. Just north of 1,000m my '07 seemed to get, well, happy. Easier to rev, more power all the way up, was noticable. Have accumulated the parts for mods - pipe, DJ kit, -Kouba screw etc. but wanted to see what "stock" was like after break-in. Now for the mods, and no doubt better yet....
