Default Playing around at the beach

Went out to the west coast (Muriwai) last night with a mate who's just bought a KTM 690. First time I've taken the KLX through deep sand, and boy did I struggle. Still, found some pretty awesome trails off the beach! Here's a vid. (you can see the KTM begin to fall over just as I get to the top of one of the hills. yes. it did manage to vibrate itself onto it's side.)

Brutal! I would hate to ride in anything even remotely close to that. I love my hard packed dirt and gravel roads. But thanks for sharing.

Ha, got back home about 11pm, my flatmates finally decided I was obsesive compulsive when they were woken up by the sound of the waterblaster...

Turns out its hard to see black sand at night with no outdoor light... Think I got most of it!

And guess its the one good thing about living in Auckland, unlimited awesomely long beaches all within an half an hour of riding...

Ha ah. Great stuff. 13 seconds in (nice edit) you pul up and the KTM falls off the stand. Classic. TIP: You may want to try hooking a higher gear and short shifting as much as possible. Helps get the traction down and reduces the wheel spin. Pulling away in second and hooking 3rd asap worked for me in the soft stuff. 12PSI in the tyres does wonders too.
