Played in the Snow Again...

Played in the Snow Again...
37 degrees in January and most of our snow is gone, in fact the yard is bare except snowbank remnants. Quite suprising considering 2 weeks ago we had 2 feet! I ended up making a 10 mile loop on the trails today. Was still pretty hard going but much better than my last expedition. I didn't get too many pictures because it was overcast and the trail had a pretty good tree canopy but here's a few below.
Added a few more screws since last time. Made a noticeable difference, especially considering that below all that snow its just ice from the last thaw we had.
Sitting on the bike looking at where I just came from....now lets retrace our steps....
Keep your eye on the KLX...
Can you see it? Here let me zoom in...
A mid hill shot looking down. This hill is a riot to sled down....if you are young enough to bounce still. On a tube you could go from where the KLX was parked, past the farthest spot you can see in this pic. I'm quite surprised I made it up, however you can see the studs chewed through the ice and hit dirt. This was a standing over the bars cranking the throttle and slipping the clutch to keep it spinning hill climb. It takes a pretty good running start in the summer too.
Oh I rejetted too and took the downspout off my 300 pipe....how's it sound?

Yikes - those studded tires would be perfect for all the rattlesnakes that cross my path out here in the desert. Can't really relate to that cold weather riding or would want to - hit 65 degrees here today which is cold enough for my thin blood!

Yeah, I'm a puss - too use to riding with it being 120º in the shade, that's almost 140° in the sun with the pavement topping out at 165°!
It's so hot in Arizona that...
• you no longer associate bridges (or rivers) with water.
• you can say 113 degrees without fainting.
• you eat hot chilies to cool your mouth off.
• you can make instant sun tea.
• you learn that a seat belt makes a pretty good branding iron.
• the temperature drops below 95, you feel a bit chilly.
• you've experienced condensation on your butt from the hot water in the toilet bowl.
• you would give anything to be able to splash cold water on your face.
• you can attend any function wearing shorts and a tank top.
• The 4 seasons are: tolerable, hot, really hot, and ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!
• you discover that in July, it takes only 2 fingers to drive your car.
• you discover that you can get a sunburn through your car window.
• you notice the best parking place is determined by shade instead of distance.
• hot water now comes out of both taps.
• it's noon in July, kids are on summer vacation, and not one person is out on the streets.
• you actually burn your hand opening the car door.
• you break a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30 a.m.
• no one would dream of putting vinyl upholstery in a car or not having air conditioning.
• your biggest motocycle wreck fear is, "What if I get knocked out and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death?"
• you realize that asphalt has a liquid state.
• a sad Arizonan once prayed, "I wish it would rain - not so much for me, cuz I've seen it -- but for my 7-year-old."

Hey Josh, nice work there. I haven't been on my bike for three weeks, in fact that's the longest off time in two years.[&:] Its either been way too nasty and slippery or I've been too busy installing the fence. We got 4 more posts in before the Seahawks game.......in which they lost. Keep the winter ride reports coming, its nice to see someone is still riding.

I hear ya on the Hawks. I'm a displaced fan. If you're playing in a blizzard, it helps to have a running game. Let's see if the front office can fix the Offensive Lineduring the off seaon...tall order, I know.
