Some pics from today
Ran into this guy who's Gas Gas wasn't sparking
Gas Gas? More like, No Gas
Top of the hill
Middle of the hill
Bottom of the hill
The bikes at the top of the hill
Top of another hillclimb. This one was absolute hell, there was a ****ing boulder sitting in the middle of the thing, with no way around, and no way over
Me sweating my *** off at the top of the aforementioned hillclimb
New boots
Random shot taking while we were resting
Random shot taken while waiting for the other two to get through a rut
I'm on the right, my cousin (YZ85) is on the left
Another one of my cousins
Got some more too, but dunno if I should post them.[/align]

Now I understand your other post about whether the KLX-250S was a good choice or not. It looks like you are really wringing the last 1% out of that motorcycle and having lots of FUN doing it!
Save your pennies and put a few upgrades in and I bet you will be happy you aren't huffing a bigger and heavier motorcycle through the gnarly stuff.

It also made me appreciate how heavy the bike is too. My cousin, on his YZ85, was having a tough time. Although on paper, his bike has loads of horsepower to boot, it's just WAY too light. The second you tip the thing backwards just a tiny bit on a hillclimb, you can expect the front end to kick up, which means clutching it and bringing the front down, and since it's a two stroke, that basically means restarting the hill, since you're out of the power band.
However, the weight of the KLX, and its placement, made sure the bike stayed firmly put. I could never ride my TTR like this, it was just like my cousins YZ. Second you lean back on the hill, BOOM, front end comes up. On the KLX though, I could just sit as far back on the seat as I wanted to help give traction to the rear, and the weight made sure the bike stayed firmly on the ground. There were some near verticle rocky sections too where I could move my weight all over the place to keep the bike from tipping, without worrying about the bike actually kicking up and flipping.
