Pelican case on Nomadic rack... and possible challenges
#11
Still can't decide on which case, 1300 or 1400, to get though.
However, my bike is at the dealership for the week while they complete the tank recall service. So I've got time this week to sort things out (which case and which mounting method).
Keep the suggestions coming. This site rocks!

Pulled the trigger on an iM2075 Storm case by Pelican.
I like the latches on the side compared to the 1300 which has them next to the handle.
Bike still is not back from the dealership so haven't had a chance to really consider how I'm going to mount it (strap or bolted to rear rack).
But I do know it can mount in front of the Nomadic rack bolts (I took the rack off before the dealership visit).

Installed the Pelican iM2075 (similar to 1300 but different placement of latches) today. I have easy access to the Nomadic rack bolts.
I used 1/4"-20 hex bolts (1” in length). I originally had 1.5” bolts and they were way too long. So I removed all the bolts and re-attached them with the shorter ones. Much better.
I also used rubber insulated clamps that I got from Home Depot (Calterm # 67793, 3/4" diameter) along with some washers and lock nuts.
Stats for the iM2075 are here: Pelican*Products*iM2075*Pelican Storm Case
I purchased mine from here: pelican cases for laptops + camera cases + shipping containers from Pelican-Case.com and would recommend them. Decent prices and really quick shipment. (I have no affiliation with them.)
A couple of pictures I took. I will comment, in person the case does not seem or look as high as in the picture. Also, I have no problem swinging my leg over the bike.
