Default pelican box

I am a new member. I love th KLX 250. I love the concept of the bike. I need to gain storage, and I have read a lot of post about the pelican box. I have even seen several ways to mount the box, and I was wondering What the best instalation method is.and Also is there any new news about the Clarke gas tank?

I used the Adel clamps and I have 5000 miles and a lot of those are on trails and bumpy gravel roads and its hanging in there. Yea what is the status with the Clark tank?

Adel clamps? I will look into that. Is the 1300 or the 1400 better?

I have the 1200, its really in my opinion the perfect size for the KLX. Not too big for the trails, but big enough to carry a few items, like extra gloves, extra gas, or that occasional quick trip to the store for small items. Here are a couple of pictures.

These three pictures are from Todd I think, I have always kept them in my album, so I hope its OK to post them. Good pictures of the install.

Here are a couple more of my bike. Hey look a 25ft chain, I bet that's over the limit for weight on the rack.

And finally this is the way I carry the 009 saw. Fits perfectly between the case and the rack, couple of bungees and you're all set. Again pushing the limit on the weight.

Actually I can see that they would probably eventually break, that's why about 6 months ago when I noticed that my case was twisting slightly I decided to add a bolt through a couple of the clamps with locking nuts. It keeps the case from moving now which I believe is the reason the clamps eventually break.[sm=partyparty.gif]

I used three SS eyebolts (cut down to fit) with washers and nyloc nuts. J bolts will work but I just used what I had. Simple and tough! Even fit into two of the mounting holes on the bottom.

That looks like a must have for the KLX. I like the saw addition. Must be some pretty tight trails. I would love to be on one of those rides were you have to break out a chainsaw. I will have to order the box and then see which one will work best for me. I will post some pics when I get it on.
