Yea they are kind of high, but than again I don't plan on using them myself.

I don't know about wheelie pegs. But they do make a good tie down point or tie point for bags.

I have another plan for the pegs, I'm in the process of designing saddle bag gas tanks, and they will slightly rest on a slip on subframe on the pegs. Here is a teaser picture. What I have in mind is to glue some comercial carpet onto the cans where they might rub, and also some sort of paint, although black might heat up from the sun............oh yea and an exhaust heat shield for the right side.

Would you have them mounted back a little further? That looks a little awkward in positioning, unless of course you had an alternate design gas can .. ?? Good idea though

Instead of gas tank, use a fuel bladder. This way its form fitting. It will take an impact and not break. And expands when full and shrinks as it gets empty. You'll be able to install them like a tank pannies or like saddle bags.

Just an idea.

Actually where they are is perfect, the angle of the back of the can fits the angle of the number plate. As far as the fuel bladder I would love to do that, but they are pretty expensive.
