Panniers for Outback rack
Hello everyone,
I recently got the Outback rack for my KLX and I am trying to figure out what kind of soft luggage system to use with it. Most of the soft panniers have a cross over strap that runs across the seat and I was wondering if people travelling with a pillion have had any issues with it.
So far I have looked at Wolfman, Enduristan, Ortleib and Adventure Spec.
Thanks,
Salinger

The Wolfman Expedition dry saddle bags work great on the Outback. You can run the crossover straps around the framework and attach them to themselves instead of the opposite side bag. I did this to keep the straps off the seat and fender. The Wolfmans are a great value at ~ $190/pair. Very tough, totally waterproof, but not very secure to store valuables in. Not too difficult to remove from bike though. You remove the rear pegs to mount the Outback so not sure about a passenger.
My impression is the AS bags are larger, better for extended travel since you open up and remove the inner drybag when you arrive. Way more $ though at $550.
I also have the Pelican 1520's which you can lock closed and to the bike. If I was doing more on road/light off road I would use them.
I know TNC shakes his head every time he sees my pics but I think it's an awesome ultralight adv touring bike.
