painting rims?
I went to a local "last ride" thing in RI about a week ago... saw two other klx's! about 50 or so bikes and about 300 quads. Oh and they had a seprate section for all the off road trucks that showed up. It was pretty crazy riding with sooo many people. anyway i went through the gnarly mud section in the end and came out covered in it. when we got back to the truck most had fallen off but it stayed thick all the way around the wheels... and thats when i saw how rad it would look with black rims.... anyone ever have sucess painting rims? or possiably where they cheapest place to buy them is. from what ive seen its pretty expensive for a set of new rims.

RE: painting rims?
Painted wheels will get scratched pretty easily, as well as when you change the wheels your irons will scrape it. The longest lasting paint job would be to just paint the inner face and leave the outter edges natural, so it'd have silver stripes and the flat portion would be black where the spokes attach.

Black excel rims aren't too expensive if you know how to lace them up yourself. The front and rear rims on my EXC would be $130 and $150 respectively to replace. You can probably find a good deal on used ones.
But to be honest, mine are usually pretty dirty so I if they didn't come stock on my bike, I certainly wouldn't have replaced them unless the originals got bent or something.
A recent photo:
I usually don't let them get this bad, but we're under a severe water shortage here and they've banned all vehicle washing. If I wash it, I could get hit with a huge fine. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking with it.
