Out with the old

Yea it looks really good, the combustion chamber looks good too. Yea i figured it has been a 250 for 6 years, time to up the FUN factor. I thought it would take more than 2 hours to tear it down, it went from running to piston in my hand in less than 2 hours...
I will use this as my build thread, so ill add more pics later. Got it all cleaned up, just gotta call bill.

Erik,
Please post up some pics of your top end when you get a chance. I'm certainly no expert and am not one who's looked at hundreds of pistons, but of the few I've seen that certainly is one of the cleaner ones. How many miles on her? I gotta think you had her dialed it close to perfect. My piston was thick with deposit and I wonder if that was from the prior owners putting around for 3K miles & 4+ years with stock jetting, or me ripping on it over the last year for another 3K+ miles jetted somewhat rich? Or was it all in how it was broke in (as mototune might suggest)?
Cheers!

I took a few pics to help me put it back together. But none of the combustion chamber. I can do that. There was a little bit of carbon on it but not much. I cleaned it up a bit. It will make a nice paperweight at work. There was 3K + miles on that. You wouldnt get the build up like i saw on your piston with stock jetting, i think you were too rich. Did you have the stock pilot jet in? The break in has nothing to do with what the piston/combustion chamber looks like after any length of time. When the dealer rebuilt my motor i just rode it normally (for me). Which is hard.
I would like to think i had it dialed in pretty good.
