Ordered a sprocket and chain....

It does on my '06. I'm 15/45 right now and the snail adjuster is on 3 or 3.5.
It would suck to run out of fuel out there!

Here is what the calculator says,
14/42 …3.00 15/45…..3.00
13/42….3.23 14/45 ….3.21
15/42….2.80 13/45…..3.46
Which means that the only real difference between the two is with the 13/45.
Interesting.
Yes the fun meter drops off when the fuel starts to slosh around the bottom of the wings.

Shouldn't that last one be 12/42?

I would question whether a 12T would even work. It would be better not to go that small.
As for sprockets, run the 13, if you don't need the power, shift. I'm thinking the gas mileage would be the same regardless, it is the same amount of work & probably easier in the lower gear.

Something is wrong with their calculator then. Cause it doesn't make any sense that a 15/42 is lower than either a 13/42 or 14/42. Check gearingcommander.com too.
My apologies for any accusation of imbibing. I know you don't do those things...

It's one of those counterintuitive numbers. Think about wire gauge numbers: 18 is smaller wire than 14.
Gearing no one would run: 15/30 = 2.0

I would never drink and post on purpose. but 2.80 is taller gearing than 3.23
I gotta go get a beer...

the smaller the number the "higher" or "taller" the gearing.
