That was my rationale for getting the kit. I think, though the needle has a little different geometry than the N1TC. Probably not noticeable. Both are far better than the dumbed down one that is stock.

Did it change the sound when you drilled the 1/2" hole in the exhaust?
If yes, better or worse? lower the pitch or higher. Louder?
I want to do it but once there is a hole. Then there is a hole forever.
I was thinking about doing the list one at a time. Is there a suggested order I should follow. Are there any steps that Must be done together?
KLX250S owner, with 155 miles on the OD and lovin it!
Thanks!

See here. KLX300R and KLX250S 09 DJ needle. Very different. This bike loves a lot of gas up top on WOT. The 300R needle reflects this, the 09 250S doesn't.

any pics would be apprecited or must a marked up diagram. thanks
2) Drilled the crankcase vent hole at the lower front right hand corner of the airbox out to 3/8". Like the KLX300, this system is plugged up and enlarging the hole helps move air out of the crankcase. It also means oil has a clear shot at your airbox if you lay the bike over.

I did not see where you said that you cut out the screen backing out of the air filter holder. This is important too. It seems like it wouldn't make much difference, but it does. Remember, More air + More fuel= More HP =-)

Earlier postings to this thread mention drilling out the carb slide vent to 7/64ths in order to increase throttle response in older bikes. Later postings do not mention this modification. Is this mod not effective, or has Keihin taken care of it on the 2009 model ?

Take out the slide from the carb' (only requires you to remove the side panels and the tank and the carb' top,) and measure the vent hole. If a 7/64" bit wont slide through the vent, then drill it out so it will.
