Two KLX's and a DRZ400 are riding over Saturday afternoon. We'll be 'causing trouble at the Ramada. I'm going to see if Tom(Sound Rider) will send me a pre-ride map. Then I can make a real plan of attack. Deej, get some moisture wicking undergarments and a 'camel pak' type hydration system. Padded bicycles shorts are nice too.

What's a moisture wicking undergarment? You mean like thin long johns? I do need something under my riding pants, and I just learned that my knee braces or pads actually go under the pants, I haven't used them yet, but I think I will and the elbow pads. I don't have a chest protector, and the camel back thing? I might borrow one from a friend that uses it for hunting, its a backpack as well. Should one of us bring a small first aid kit? You still haven't said if they send you something to assure you have a place in the event. Looking forward to the ride. We are going to stay at my mother-n-laws place in Sequim on Saturday night so I will be rested up in the morning. I actually wish there was some single track on this event, as I am really starting to enjoy the trails here.

deej,

Check this out.

If it's warm, you need something like this to keep you cool and dry in those "personal" areas.

You can choose to dress appropriately, or use some of this while you're out riding.

Bicycling shorts can make a huge difference in your comfort after many hours in the saddle!

The last thing you want to do when riding is come up with a severe case of "Monkey Butt".

I have a first aid kit that I carry with me all the time so no worrys there, On the entry stuff you should receive a packet in the mail if you dont make a copy of your receipt and that will be your pass in. If they allowed you to pay for the ride they are going to let you ride.......

At your local sports store they should have 'long john' type clothes that are made to you cool off in the summer and stay warm in the winter. No cotton. Cotton holds moisture and can rub you raw. I prefer 'Chamois butter' from my local bicycle shop to stop 'monkey butt' and keep the feet cool, it's a lotion. Tom at Sound Rider has a vest that's real cool. HERE is the evaporative vest and padded shorts. I use a Walmart backpack with a water bladder in it $20. In my pack I usually carry first aid, tire repair, adjustable wrench, and Allen wrenches.

This ride should be allot of fun. You might want to bring a siphon hose 'cause of that little tank ya' got there. Just kidding...I hope. Scat and I will be showing off our Acerbis 3.7gal tanks. What's mom-in-laws address? in case we get kicked out of the Ramada.

Well the website said that there would be gas along the way, so I assumed that my little tank will be ok, besides I think I can still do 100 miles on a tank. We'll see, but I have to tell you I am really getting excited about this thing. I mean first of all it's only 1.5 hours from my house, I have never done one before, but the last few months practicing on the 70 mile rides on the forest service roads will prove good practice, and Barbecue at the end? You had me at Barbecue LOL
