Two stroke dual sport, it doesn't getting any more old school than that.

 

My Dad's first bike was a '72 Kawasaki F7 (175cc 2-stroke). The bike didn't use ports in the piston to move the fuel/oil/air mixture, but instead used a rotary valve. The carb was actually built into the lower cases. Dad has told me hundreds of stories about this bike - the kind where he laughs now, but it wasn't funny then.[sm=smiley36.gif] It would easily do 75 - 80 MPH on the highway. But that was the problem - it only could be ridden at one speed and that was wide open. Anything less would foul a spark plug in a heart beat, and usually at the worst possible times, like 1/3 of the way through a mud hole or half way up a hill.

He never crashed the bike doing something stupid. He crashed because the bike did something stupid. Well, at least that's his story and he's sticking to it!

If i knew how to post a picture my first one was a 1963 250 honda scrambler. 10 hp, 3&1/2 inches of travel and only 386 pounds dry. Probably one of the first duel sports.
