for those of you who have seen my other thread about my current state of depression know what i am talking about.
this summer i picked up a 1970 sumthing KS125 enduro. I have not gotten fresh pics. but the rusty parts(airbox, exhaust etc) you can see have since been airblasted and reprymered. This winter i will pull the engine and strip down the frame, then we are going to hit it with this wierd paint like stuff that people put on truck beds BEFORE adhering LineX. then if i can get the motor running(doubtfull, the moron i bought it off ran it without the oil pump working for a few quick rides before he sold t to me, the oil pump on this bike also lubs the left side of the engine) i will reassemble and have a cool classic to add to my old Suzuki rm75.
I am a bit of a newb at all of this stuff so any imput would be greatly apreaciated.

Your last pic reminded me of the shape my first motorcycle was in. Took me a while, but I finally figured out why I wasn't getting a spark -- bad ignition coil. The bike was so old and in such bad shape, though, that I couldn't even figure out what make it was, so I had no idea where to get parts. I ended up tearing the coil apart, finding where the high voltage side was broken, then rewinding the last 1/16" layer of wire. (Ok, I cheated ... I just cut off most of what I unwound. Hey! That wire is might thin and I unwound a lot!!!) Anyway, it worked and I got the bike running! (Looking back, though, I can't believe I went to all the trouble! I was in high school, so I guess it wasn't a hassle then.) I got the bike from a junk pile for free, and sold it for $50, so I didn't complain.
My next bike was a 100cc Hodaka, similar to the one below. Ah, but that's another story for another forum.

Man a mate of mine had a KS125 I loved that little bike, they were one of the most advanced dual purpose bike at the time. Much like what the KLX250 is now, please keep us informed of your progress. If I can help at all on here I will (bit far away to help in person sorry) [8D]
good luck

Looks like a fun project. It even has a mud flap. I bet Deej's mud flap doesn't have a "K" on it

Thanks for nothing, ........now I have to find a way to stencil a K on it. Stop the madness.

Rusty,
Heck, that's a whole lot better project than my first bike! At least your's is all together and has much of the gear with it. Mine was a pile of parts that I had to sort through, find the right ones and then bolt it all back together. Had to do a lot of hunting for some parts, but I got it running. Use the time as a way to develop your skills and knowledge - an excellent opportunity!
Looking forward to seeing your project coming together!
