MD, those may be two different brands of filter, but aren't they for the same application? It's the rubber grommet/o-ring that does the sealing, so it doesn't matter if the height level of the filter body is a little different...just as long as it doesn't interfere with the o-ring contact.

Dude, you need to calm down a bit. Come asking for help and then give a bunch of attitude. No need for your snide remarks in return to others forum members answers.

I use the fram filter, so I won't take offense to you calling it junk. To answer your question, its spring to engine, filter with gasket to outside cover.

As far as a manual, if you do a bit of searching you can find a pdf copy on the internet that is free. So no more excuses for not using it.

Cool Yes look at the pic

There are holes on both ends of the filter. And I asked which was to be pointed outward.
Simple question just wanted a simple answer. LOOK what I got!!

LOL!...yes...I thought that was a little odd too.

God gave me mercy a long time ago, so I don't have to keep asking for it.

And someone on here gave you a simple answer that the rubber pointed to the outside, that should have been sufficient!

Thanks again.
And May YOUR GOD have MERCY on YOU.

I see nothing wrong in that statement. It's just my way of saying I hope to see you in heaven.

And fault was found w/my saying it.

Actually, the question was answered way back in post #5. So why you continued to bicker is beyond me.

Go to any auto dealer, chevy, ford, dodge, VW, BMW, Audi.... Talk to the mechanic and ask them how to install the oil filter because you got the car/truck in pieces and will be putting it together to drive. You will get the same response you got here. I never called anyone any names. Never attacked anyone.
