Royal Purple MaxCycle 10w-40. Thats if you can find it first without ripping your arm off to pay for the oil.

Can't go wrong with Mobil 1 4T 10w-40. Save the effort of ripping your own arm off.

the guy i had install the big bore in my electra glide told me not to even think of putting synthetic oil in the bike until at least 2000 miles. petroleum based oil is the best for the break-in. also he had me change the oil at 500,1000,1500,and 2000 miles. he's been rebuilding these things for 30 yrs and has a great reputation so i trust his advice.......just sayin'

My friend, with 40 years experience, on-road, off-road, former competitor, swears by AMSOIL. It's the only thing he puts in his Gold Wing and KTM 450.

I guess I may go with it myself on my next oil change.

Castrol Power RS R4 4T, 5W-40 Full Synthetic. Best and newest on the market. Go to www.castrol.com/usand they have a link to a retailer who I just purchased from withfree shipping over $50. It is about $10 per liter but you will not find it anywhere else. No tax, free shipping. Look it up, you will be impressed.

Well im in the middle of the oil change. I opened up the 14mm drain plug and let it drain until nothing came out. Then removed the oil filter. Put the new filter in and now Im putting oil in. Im not even at 1litre and the gauge is reading full? Chould I close it up and let the bike idle to get some oil into the filter then add more? Should I check after the oil change to be sure the oil is getting through the filter or anything?

I put in Kawasaki synthetic oil (and paid dearly for it - $$$ expensive).

But more importantly...it's GREEN.

Seriously? Are you sure you didn't put synthetic 2-stroke oil in there? I've never ever seen green motor oil.

nooob question...

Ive just drained the oil, changed the oil filter, and now reading the manuel, theres actually nowhere that it says where to put the new oil in. I'm assuming its the black screw cap above the brake pedal?
