I also have the KLX250SF and I want to occasionally take it off road, or at a minimum have
better traction on gravel roads. Since I don't want to spend $900 to $1000 on a new set of
dual sport rims and tires (not this year anyway), I looked around to see what possible tires

Unfortunately that doesn't work for me since the purpose of having the extra set of wheels is to go dirt bike riding with the g/f and her boy. The old skool 2-stroke WR250 is just way too much bike for that.
FYI, I found a guy in the UK that can supposedly put together a full set of wheels using stock KLX-SF hubs, rotors and rotor bolts, with 18" rear and 21" front Yoko rims all laced up and ready to go for $800 shipped. All I would have to do is get a sprocket and sprocket bolts.
Oh, and during my search I priced the 09 KL-S wheels assemblies, rotors, etc. It would be over $1200 for the factory stuff *if* the KL-S wheel hubs work. If not, then it's over $1600 to buy the SF hubs, rotors, S spokes, nipples, rims, etc. LOTS of little pieces and then are *expensive!* The nipples alone retail for $2.97 each and there are 36 of them on each wheel! Yikes!
That sure makes the $800 deal seem like a bargain in comparison. Oh and the usual vendors found online all want $1200++ for the same setup.

Just buy the front hub and make it up to a 17" rim. (front 17" rear 18") there are plenty of tyre applications for road and dirt for both sizes.
FWIW the DRZ SM has the forks and swingarm from the RM 250 MX bike. Getting some cheap off road wheels for that application will be easy.

KLX250SF New and still Clean
KLX250SF with Sheepskin cover, Borrego Rack, Skid Plate and Kenda K270 Tires on
Supermoto rims (Rear 150/70-17, Front 120/70-17). I am new to riding on knobby tires, but I don’t really like riding on pavement with these tires in comparison to my original tires. I definitely don’t lean as much into a turn with the knobby tires. Also with the larger front tire the bike steers like a tug boat on pavement, may not be so bad off road on the looser material. However perhaps I should loosen the rear shock a few clicks like the 250S version to decrease the rake on the front fork. I’d be interested in anyone’s thoughts on these issues.
Although not shown there is a hole at the bottom of the engine in between the bolt and the radiator hose on the photo below. I don’t have a photo of the hole because my skid plate is an obstruction (I noticed the hole when putting on the plate. Does anyone know what that hole is?
What is that hole under where Radiator Hose goes into the engine?

The knobbies will be less confidence inspiring on pavement due to the "squishiness" of the tread blocks.
It steers like a truck now because of that and because of the larger tires. The rear is also contributing to the slower steering. If you want it to steer faster you need to raise the forks in the triple clamps. Start with 10mm and see what happens. If the bike feels nervous or doesn't track well then try 5mm, etc.

That's another drain hole. It's there to allow drainage from the spark plug well in the top of the head. If water gets in there that hole allows it to drain out so that you don't end up with an ignition misfire. That hole also allows oil to drain out if the valve cover gasket leaks and oil gets down in there.

I used to have SM wheels with KLX650 hubs on my 2009 250S model.
A lot of stuff is interchangeable. You need to check out the online microfiche and start looking at part numbers that are the same.

Seriously considering a supermoto wheel set, even my Dunlop D606's suck in muddy crap so I want real woods tires on this set. Just another thing to add to the list...

Off Road Wheels for KLX250SF
so as the title says i want the original off raod wheels for a husqvarna te610, just wondering if any others will fit so if anyone knows of any that will or the proper ones let me know.
