Default Off For More Exploring Tomorrow

A couple of KLR650 friends are meeting me up in an area that just needs to be explored.

The town is Eureka, Florida. You can find it on Yahoo Maps.

It is on the edge of the Ocala National Forest and is where they were going to build the Cross Florida Barge Canal back in the 60's, but that fell that fell through.

There is a lot of fire roads and such in the area, probably a lot of jeep trails too.

I'll take the camera and bring photos back and post them.

See y'all later.

Got back from an awesome ride today. Met the guys up in Eureka, Florida and we went in search of dirt.

I let them lead as they were on KLR650's, I was on the KLX. I did not want to take them down roads I would go down. Worked out quite well.

For pictures and a full write-up, check out Eureka! Great Roads!

The KLX did quite well off-road today. They chose to go into some single track and I just kept up. Kind of felt sorry for them watching them wrestle those big, heavy bikes around in the deep, deep sand we wound up in.

My KLX lost it's virginity today. It went down. I was showing off and decided to do a "plant your foot and spin the bike around" move. It's been awhile. How did it go? Not too good! I was looking really good until the rear wheel slipped out and the bike low sided. You can lift the KLX up easily after a spill, even when you are laughing your a$$ off at yourself!

scat,

If the steering is not locked, I can tell you how to jumper around the switch!

Remember, the wife said, "you don't get the keys until Christmas!" No where in that statement does it say anything about not being able to ride it until Christmas!

Just trying to be helpful to another KLX owner.

Nice pics -- I am so jealous -- looks like great fun on those trails.
Right now, it's snowing here..... again. And 12 degrees....

There is a gathering of Kawasaki dualsport riders in the Tallahassee area coming in January of 2006. It is called "Tour de Apalachicola" and we're going to have cabin camping for $8 per person per night, which includes breakfast. Then ride until your heart's content or your butt is dragging, your choice!

It's all gonna happen the 13th thru 16th of January. Martin Luther King Day is Monday and a lot of folks have that off.

You're welcome to come on down and enjoy some nice riding!
