Default o ring chain power loss???

While dropping my counter shaft to 13T I noticed the drag of the oring chain. I haven't seen any comments here about going to a standard chain to gain ( or not lose) a little power?

Any thought?

It does use a little more friction to drive an o-ring chain, but IMO it's worth it in the long run of chain and sprocket life. I've used both, and I doubt I'll ever use a non-o-ring chain again for anything that runs in any dirt to any degree. Road racers and drag racers are about the only ones who can gain much of any advantage using a non-o-ring chain. If you're going to use a motorcycle and want the drivetrain components to give long, useful service, use an o-ring chain.

My chain is likely the original and the bike came with a new oring chain still in the box.

I'll probably go ahead and put the new one on and compare the drag...the old one may just be shot compounding that extra friction.
