i tried my first tube change in years [christ what a mess that was] buggered

a brand new tube 4 patches on it already . get some tire soap or dish soap

it makes it a lot easier , havent tried the back with the rim lock yet that

should be a mess as well . i should practice on a old rim & tire my skills

are crap. they want 30$ to do it so i'll work on it some more. got a flat on

the front on saturday but left all the tire tools at home [ride over]i'll try and

embarrass myself later, hope no ones around to see this. remember tire

Wow a lot of 606 haters. Just kidding, but I actually love the 606. I think its the perfect combination.

I don't know if they are available in the sizes needed for the KLX, but the Continental TKC 80s were great on my KLR for both pavement and dirt. I believe they are considered a 50/50 tire.

Learn to mount tires yourself. Not too hard to do once you learn how to do it. There are some good instructions available on the web so try Googling for instructions on tire changing.

I haven't had my KLX in the dirt yet, but the stock tires sure look like good dirt tires. Mine will see some dirt next weekend.

Haha I just noticed that you have the etrex. How do you like it. Looks like you mounted yours in the same place as I did.

I really like the etrex. I find it useful to follow my tracks back when I get lost. The mount is not ideal because it's under my crossbar but it works. I would like to be able to put my crossbar pad on but I won't be able to see the GPS if do that.

Speaking of GPS, it's a great tool to download your tracks and overlay them over Google Earth. For example, after analyzing this track over GE, I realized that if I want to take full advantage of all the trails in this neck of the woods, I HAVE to get across this stream. Google Earth showed that I'm really limited in the number of trails I'll have access to unless I can cross this stream. It's kind of a bummer because the stream, although not too wide, is pretty deep and there are rocks that you have to get over on the other side.

Awesome, I have mine mounted on the bigger part of the bars. Its a bar mount for motorcycles and bicycles.

Quick release, makes it nice for taking with you while in the store or if you are doing Geocaching.

Here's a shot of mine. Hmmm I guess mine is mounted on the cross bar, I thought it was on the bigger part. But the picture doesn't lie.

hey, is that a Vista Hcx? thats what I have - awsome gps ! doesnt lose signal like my old Lowrance. Electronic compass is a nice exra feature. My project for this summer is to travel unmarked trails and edit them permanenty into the mapsource maps. Its time consuming but well worth the effort.
