noob questions...general stuff.
ok so im new to owning my own bike (klx250). ive always rode other peoples bikes, so im not new to riding.
anywho. what are some common things to look for on a bike? like regular maint. and just things that need to be done every so often?
also how do i check if my chain has stretched too much or it needs to be replaced?
i have a 13t cs sprocket, and plan on getting a 45 rear sprocket (summers ill be doing a lot more road driving) and was thinking of doing 14/45 when i know ill be doing mostly street and 13/45 when i know ill be out doing trails and stuff for a while. would it be ok to change them out every so often (would be changing maybe 2 or 3 times a year) and could i use the same chain for both setups?
last quesiton, what size chain is needed for a 13/45 or 14/45 set-up?
thanks! please excuse my noobness....ive raced cars for a long time and am loving bikes so far, i catch on quick, just new to chains and dont want my new bike to break due to me missing some reg maint.
THANKS!

RE: noob questions...general stuff.
Somewhere on here or another site there is a checklist of what to look for before riding every time. Things like lights all in working order, tires etc, etc. Ahhhhhha I found it using the infamous search feature here. I just typed in Safety Checklist.

Chain wear is covered in your manual

Same chain should be fine
