noise from engine ? ? ?
Ok, just picked up my Klx250s . However ive never owned a bike within the last 15 years beside a ct70 trail bike that I sold last week .
Anyhow, I took it for a spin in the parking lot where Im storing the bike. My question ... is it normal for a noise simular to a noisey sewing machine ? I thought it sounded kinda like a tapping sound that got louder as RPM's increased.
Also, does anyone know why my trip meter read 33 km's and my odometer reads less than 1 km ? ?
Regards,

RE: noise from engine ? ? ?
Someone could have probably messed with the trip meter and caused it to show alot higher then the actual miles its been. I got my bike and my trip meter showed 55 miles while my odometer showed .6 miles

the KLX is notorious for engine noises. mine started at about 1200 miles. this issue has been discussed at length over on the Thumper Talk forum. the sewing machine noise comes from the cam chain. most of the 300r riders out there don't seem to think it's a big deal. just keep an eye on the valve clearances
