That's not the stock location, I just moved it down there so it wouldn't block the radiator which is where it was originally. I've actually moved it back to in front of the radiator, mostly because it looks goofy on the skid plate. It turns out it works better back on the radiator now that I've got some new radiator guards and I can mount it up a little higher out of the air flow.

I figured you did that, I bet that let others hear your horn easier when you were wanting to pass. Have you checked the stock location of the horn on the '09? I was kind of surprised at it's location. I wonder what their logic is on it? The one on ebay is the same so it must be what they decided to go with. At least they got the front brake routing the right way.

I didn't notice on the '09, but now that you pointed it out it seems like a decent place to put it. Maybe they didn't want it to block air flow either? On my skid plate, my horn got covered with mud pretty good a lot but it always still worked.

On the KTM, some folks move the horn and mount it behind the headlight mask. Seems to me that would muffle it quite a bit. I don't ride much on the road, but if I do happen to need the horn, I want it to be a loud as possible, so I didn't want to put it behind the headlight plastic.
