No power above 7,000 RPM's

RE: No power above 7,000 RPM's
I'm at 2 turns out with a 250R exhaust (same as the 300) and when the bike isn't totally up to temp I'll get an occasional pop if I'm running high rpm in a low gear in town and quickly shut down the throttle. When I was at 2.5 turns it wouldn't idle properly even after adjusting the idle screw and it seemed flat on top. Currently it will pull nicely up to 9500.

OK, I've done the mods....well, all the wife will allow for now.
crank vent drilled
larger snorkel in airbox
125 main jet
40 pilot jet
slide drilled
mixture screw 2.5 turns out
Just got the full Muzzy today........wooo hooo (it rubs on the frame under the petcock area, buy I guess I can live with it)
It does seem more "spunky", and pulls better than stock, but only up to about 7 grand or there abouts. Then it kinda flattens out.
Do I need a bigger main? A 128 perhaps? Should I raise the needle by dropping the clip to the third notch?
Should I try to let more air into the box(maybe the double snorkel mod or drill some holes)?
Any ideas or is this about as good as it gets??
Thanks in advance
Brian

RE: No power above 7,000 RPM's
I have the N1TC needle and as I said, it's on the 2nd slot from the top. Just for sh*ts and giggles, I turned that hard
to get to screw in about 1/4 turn, and dammit it seems a little better. It is pulling better right up to 9 grand or so,
but it still seems to be breaking up a little on hard acceleration. I have a 128 main on order, I think I'll swap
it with the 125. It turned the new muzzy head pipe brownish in only about 15 miles. I can only assume that I'm
still running a little lean.
What do you all think? am I on the right path?

Just found this site. It really explains what each component of the carbs does and how to dial it in.
