Save 3000 bucks and buy the used one. It is still a brand new bike to you!!! Put the money you saved into a term deposit and live off the interest when you turn 65

What's up

I'm developing a C# & SQL application ..... makin a little side cash so I can buy that pumper for my adv plus some other farkles

I just skimmed the thread.....what did I miss?

Are you using live bait to get Iowa rilled up.

As far as the bike purchase goes.....I would have bought a used klx when I bought my 06 if they had existed. I've seen a few sell on the adv site for $3200 - $3500.

Buy it and get it dirty.

Then If i spent the extra $3000 on blow and hookers that would be wasteful? Oh well!

Well I offered him 3200 and he said OK but no lower. Sooo I think I'm gonna pick it up this weekend. Is there ANY way to make sure the "85 original miles" is legit? It sounds like an honest deal don't get me wrong but I know people do that kind of ****...Yea I will be saving a lot of money and now I can have a little extra to put on a new exhaust or some other kind of mod.

If it's really only got 85 original miles, I'm not sure there's a definitive way to tell besides taking the engine apart and carefully measuring some wear items. But if it has the original stock tires on it which should be Dunlop 603 and they still look pretty much new, i.e., very little wear, that might be a good indicator. I don't know of anyone that buys those tires new since they are so expensive, and it's doubtful the original owner changed them out within 86 miles.

Also, check the air filter - if it's all gunked up and dirty, I'd question the 86 mile claim. Chances are the original owner didn't take it on any serious off-road rides with only 86 miles on the clock. Therefore, the air filter should still be clean and looking new.

Just a few suggestions - look for wear items. Any paint rubbed off the side cases due to boot rub? If so, that might be a clue that it has more time on it than claimed. 86 miles should be pretty much brand new. I mean, that's hardly even one tank of gas, right?

Wear marks on the engine casings. With only 85 miles, there shouldn't be much.
