new truck, need opinions

RE: new truck, need opinions
I also think a lot is dependent on where fuel prices are going to go in the near future. Will the economy get worse and things in the Middle East, Mexico and Venezuela get further out of control. Will the government penalize you for having a larger engine? Will owners of hybrids go out of there way to vandalize your gas guzzling vehicles in parking lots? Personally, I like to prepare for the worse but hope for the best.

no personal experience but my friend traded in his toyota for a dodge and said he has never looked back.
but seriously.. just hang onto the truck or get a cheap truck for hauling and get something else to be your family vehicle.
makes me mad when i see all these people (50% of the local population) driving their huge v8 hauling truck to the office every day and you can tell its never seen a trailer in its life (usually no hitch on it) and the bed is so spotless its obviously never been used for anything but like a sock to stuff their tighty whiteys.
i understand that you actually use it to haul. but its probably such a small percentage that you really should be using something more practical for daily use. (truck can last for 40 years if you take care of it and only use it when its needed)

oh and another thought. the money you save on gas driving a more preactical family vehicle around will easily pay for you to rent a truck when you need to haul something. (for most people, depends on your actually needs)

yeah, they just don't make them like that anymore. the cool thing about that truck is the emblem on the side that actually says 'camper special', it was a specially built truck. nowadays you just get a tow pkg, which really doesn't get you much compared to those trucks.
