Ah, I noticed both the standard and motion pro "light-weight" rimlocks available. Not much price difference. I purposely chose the traditional cast aluminum style that is OEM for so many brands and I bet you're right that they weigh more.

I only wish I would have put the lock on my scale. I own one of those fancy gram/ounce scales that go on the counter and you can tare. I used it for the slime dose. It would have been so easy to throw those rimlocks on there and know the weight required. Lesson learned.

I think (hope) he's kidding about Dyna beads w slime. Maybe he missed that Highbeam had slimed the tubes. Sounds like one heck of a mess if anyone falls for that advice.

Check with the manufacturer. Sometimes the paint spot should be lined up with the valve stem and sometimes opposite. Just enter "paint spot" and "Dunlop" or whatever brand into google.

I had no idea about this dot. I've changed dozens of tires and never knew.

I've been noticing more and more tires don't have the dot any more. I suppose the tire companies must be getting better at making them pretty well balanced.

That's true, not all brands have a paint spot. It's also true that new tires, especially motorcycle tires, are very well-balanced out of the box (so to speak).

I've never been able to get my front end to feel normal since I added a front tire rim lock. Mine will be coming off in the next week or two. I don't really think a front tire rim lock is all that necessary anyway.
