My excella front tire is wearing the same way. It is because the tireis made from asoft compound and when you brake hard in the street the nobbies flex causing the tire to wear abnormally. When I was younger I had aDunlap 756 on the frontthat did the same thing. Any tire with tall, soft, nobbies is prone to this wear. Tire pressure and riding style are also contributing factors.

My stock rear tire has about had it, besides it absolutely sucks in the mud. Considering replacing it with a Michelin AC10, a riding buddy has these tires on her DRZ400 and swears by them.

One interesting feature of the AC10 is that it is a reversable tire and has wear markers to signal when its time to reverse them. That tire may help combat this type of wear pattern?

Another member on this forum has this tire, has reported favorable results but keep in mind its a 90/10-type tire and probably not suitable for high speed riding or mostly street riding.

Brian thats only because I took pictures from a distance. The side panels under the stickers are all scraped up from my less than stellar performance in NJ. I'm thinking of trying the AC-10 after this front is unuseable. For the rear I'll probably stick with the TM,I can't find fault with it anywhere, aside from being incredibly loud.

A few scrapes and scratches on a dirt bike make it look better, not worse. Just my opinion. My KTM looked like it was sanded with 60-grit paper after NJ. Jimmi and Patrick gave me sh!te because before that weekend it was still fairly glossy. No longer.

Ya could alway just flip the tire 180 degrees.

The tire is a directional tire, though I don't know why.

That's a beautiful seat. Does it lower the sky high seat height of the Katooom?
