I am really looking forward to sending this in. Love the bike and it will be just that much better.
Actually, I have an EX250 and it's seat is pretty decent compared to the KLX. I've added an Alaska Leather Buttpad to it and I wear gel bicycling shorts. With that combo I can ride for quite a while without worry.

Good to know. I may try the bike shorts tip next week when I pick up the bike. I have 10 hours of riding and they may help.

Did 200 km a couple of days ago. First any sort of distance/time with the new seat. I like it!

How much wider is it at it's widest point? I measured my '07 - it's 7.5" at the middle.

I didn't see on elisted for the 06/07 seat.

Ordering one today. Any idea how I should dispose of the chicken bones used for padding in the stock seat?

I have one of the early model SC seats. The material and stitching is a little different than the newer one on my KLR. I asked him to build up the dip by the tank. It fits me well.

I am going to order a new seat from SC and can anyone comment on the material combo they chose? Gripper center with carbon fiber vinyl sides or Gripper center with black vinyl sides. I like the flat black gripper material on the stock seat so im not sure on the carbon fiber look. Is the gripper seat shiny? Any other photos you guys can post. Thanks

I went with the SC stock seat cover; gripper top, black vinyl sides. The gripper has hardly any shine to it, the sides are a bit shinier. I think it would be tough to get a photo that accurately shows what the eye sees.

Thanks for the reply. I called them and got the gipper with carbon fiber sides. He said that the carbon fiber they use now is flat black. And he said after a while the gripper will go flat.
