local upholstery shop
I checked with a local upholstery shop (East Central Florida).
$40-$50 just to staple the seat on.
$200 and up to add foam, reshape seat, make new cover and install cover.
Kinda more than I had hoped for.
His work that was on display from other projects was beautiful. I am sure the new seat would have been a very high quality item.

I bought a stapler for $35. Took the seat pan to the store to test if it has enough jam to to do the job. As long as I keep pressure at the driving end as I pull the trigger with my other hand it's fine. Using it one-handed there is a little bit of bounce that lets the staple stand a bit proud. Waiting for stainless staples to arrive.

When I did my seat concepts cover last week, I didnt have a stapler either.
I contemplated (for about a minute) taking it to an upholstery shop that had installed a cover for me about a decade ago. I like to do my modifications myself so I went to the local tool rental place and rented an electric stapler for 2 hours ($8) and purchased a box of staples ($3) then drove home, installed the cover, returned the stapler, and went to work.
Best 175 bucks +11 bucks spent on the klx250 so far.

Air Stapler
Have not done the Seat Concepts seat mod yet but I did have my seat cover off to try some foam shaping.
I bought a sub $20 air stapler at Harbor Freight and some 1/4" T-50 staples. Worked fine stapling the cover back on.

I called Seat Concepts 951-756-1030, 951-741-0722 and spoke with somone about the red sides and that was no problems. You are correct about not listing on the web site. Give em a try and see what they have to say about the colors. Good Luck!
