New Renthals & clutch perch--pics
Got me some Renthals I wanted the same height with less sweep so the CR bend seemed to fit the bill, #773 I think. These are not the CR highs. The pics show virtually the same height with less sweep vs stock.

Now I know some of you want taller (the stock ones seemed plenty tall to me but I guess I am used to lower bars) so I had a set of KX HIGHS laying around & I compared the stock ones to those. The KX Highs had virtually the same sweep as stock but were taller--the exact opposite of my Renthals.

Removed the stock clutch side grip with my air compressor technique. Insert nozzle, few shots of air to expand grip from glue, then blast it & pull it off in one motion. Off like butter...

Some grips I put on with no glue but that was not happening here so I just used some ordinary super glue to reinstall the OEM grip. I have used spray paint too & have it work OK.
Ground the nubs on the switches, & once I take a phillips head screw out it almost never goes back in. If I ever met Mr. Phillips we would come to blows.

TA DA!

With Renthals "grab bag" policy of pads I got red--I think only yellow would look worse. I will have to get another one.
Now for the clutch perch...

Wanted to get rid of the Dumbo ears so off they came. Once you take them off you can see the levers have some monstrous pivot bolts. Those had to go. A standard pivot from an extra perch I had worked fine for the brake

Much cleaner. Now the clutch I I found no way around other than a new perch. This had the added bonus of no more interlock switch & wire, a more readily available lever (used lever & perch for Honda CRs from 198X to 199X, & the lever of the CR is the same as stock where it bends in & you grab it but it sticks out further at the tip. This means its virtually the same reach but you get more pull before you hit your other fingers (I never do full pulls once I am moving forward).

I reused the stock adjuster so I can reuse the stock boot.

I do not know what Kawasaki was thinking with those dumbo ears & the clutch cover boot--it is impossible to adjust the clutch at the lever with those dumbo ears! Now much easier. BTW--my boot was torn from the ears so I have a new one on order--that is why the cable is not hooked up yet.

Looks clean! I just did the same for my daughters TTR125 It was real easy. I am sure I will end up with a set for mine soon. I have to get all the other stuff put on first then I will work on the bars.
